Saturday evening, former President Donald J. Trump has demanded people boycott Major League Baseball, Delta Airlines, ViacomCBS, Coca-Cola, UPS, and other companies for speaking out against Georgia’s new voter laws.
Trump said “radical left Democrats” have threatened to boycott products for several years, and now the left is “going big time with WOKE CANCEL CULTURE.”
“It is finally time for Republicans and Conservatives to fight back—we have more people than they do—by far! Boycott Major League Baseball (MLB), Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, JPMorgan Chase, ViacomCBS, Citigroup, Cisco, UPS, and Merck,” Trump’s statement read.
“Don’t go back to their products until they relent. We can play the game better than them.”
Coca-Cola, Delta, and UPS are based in Atlanta.
Wednesday, the CEOs of Coca-Cola, Delta Air Lines, and Merck voiced opposition to Georgia’s new voting laws.
“The entire rationale for this bill was based on a lie: that there was widespread voter fraud in Georgia in the 2020 elections. This is simply not true,” Delta CEO Ed Bastian said in a written statement. “Unfortunately, that excuse is being used in states across the nation that are attempting to pass similar legislation to restrict voting rights.”
Trump would repeat the allegation that the 2020 Presidential Election was stolen.
“They rigged and stole our 2020 Presidential Election, which we won by a landslide, and then, on top of that, boycott and scare companies into submission,” Trump continued. “Never submit, never give up! The Radical Left will destroy our Country if we let them.
“We will not become a Socialist Nation. Happy Easter!”
Georgia’s new voter laws promise, “a mechanism to address local election problems [that] will promote voter confidence and meet the goal of uniformity.”
However, Senate Bill 202 replaces the signature match statute with voter ID requirements, shortens the absentee ballot request period starting 11-weeks before the elections and ending 11 days before the end of the primary, election, or runoff; tightens requirements for county elections supervisors, such as requiring them to have absentee ballots counted by 5 p.m. the day after elections, bans the use of mobile voting buses for early voting except in emergencies.
Georgia’s House of Representatives voted Wednesday to revoke a jet-fuel tax break that benefited Delta Air Lines. House Speaker David Ralston told reporters, “you don’t feed a dog that bites your hand.” The Georgia Senate failed to debate the measure on the last day of the legislative session, but lawmakers still made their point that they would seek to reprimand the companies for participating in what they feel is the liberal agenda.
“Coca-Cola went a little too far,” Ralston said during a press gathering after the end of the Legislative Session. “And so I went out and I bought a Pepsi the other day, and they’re not that bad, actually.”
