In celebration of National Life Insurance Awareness Month, Atlanta’s DeKalb County Commissioner Larry Johnson honored Dr. Nicole Garner Scott and Christopher Campbell of Northwestern Mutual for their significant, ongoing commitment to financial literacy and economic empowerment servicing diverse communities & commitment to closing the wealth & coverage gap.
“ Financial literacy is the key to your economic, personal and community health,” Johnson said. “Your financial knowledge will help you thrive in these economic times. So set a foundation for you and your family.”
The honor was given in the form of a proclamation presented to two Atlantans on Thursday, September 30, recognizing Garner Scott and Campbell for their commitment to engaging and educating more consumers about the value of life insurance and helping more families protect their financial security, build their legacies and create generational wealth.
“If there is one thing we’ve learned through the pandemic, it’s that life is fragile and it’s important to prepare for the unexpected,” Garner Scott said. “Our hope is that this heightened awareness will encourage more of our community to properly financially strategize for their future – as well as understanding the living benefits of life insurance and integrative planning”
“For us this is not an occupation, this is a calling. For many people, having life insurance, integrated financial planning and wealth management comes down to information, they often don’t fully understand all that life insurance can do and we are aggressively committed to changing this” Campbell said.
